Members from Shipley Labour were at the Peace and Craft Fair in Saltaire on 16th June 2018, asking people: Imagine if we had a better world, what would your priorities be? What would you really like to see? This is what they told us.
ECONOMICS
- No VAT on DIY, energy saving goods
- Simplify tax systems to stop cheating
- Stop making the rich richer
- End hostile immigration and benefits environment
- Nationalise the economy
- Stop Universal Credit – bring back decent benefits
- More public sector jobs; More support workers
- Universal basic income or equivalent to stamp out poverty and means testing/sanctions
EDUCATION
- More funding for schools
- No homework in schools

ENVIRONMENT
- Greater wildlife protection and preference over development
